Vaccine Management Supervisor
Job Description
Overview This role requires expertise in vaccine management, compliance, and public health to ensure the effective implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of all vaccine-related protocols across our facilities. As the Vaccine Operations Coordinator Manager, the individual will have full control over vaccine-related operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the role involves fostering strong relationships with internal staff, shelter partners, and health authorities. The Vaccine Operations Coordinator Manager will also be responsible for training staff on accurate protocols and addressing any vaccine-related questions from shelters while also overseeing medical supply management and waste disposal.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee the vaccine department, implementing and updating vaccine-related policies, protocols, and procedures across multiple facilities.
· Establish and manage vaccine accounts with all new shelters we contract with, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
· Ensure that all policies and protocols are clearly communicated and adhered to by all relevant personnel, maintaining strict compliance across the board.
Vaccine Management & Compliance:
· Oversee the ordering, storage, and inventory of vaccines at each shelter location, ensuring that adequate stock levels are maintained and that vaccines are stored according to regulatory guidelines.
· Regularly rotate through all shelter locations to ensure that data loggers are functioning correctly and that temperature-sensitive vaccines are stored and handled properly.
· Closely monitor vaccine expiration dates and report any imminent expirations to the state health department, taking proactive measures to minimize waste.
· Ensure that all medical assistants are trained and fully compliant with the process of clearing log tags, maintaining strict adherence to vaccine storage protocols.
Medical Supply Management:
· Monitor and manage medical supplies for each shelter, ensuring adequate stock levels, timely orders, and accurate tracking of expenses.
Additionally, maintain detailed records to support operational efficiency and cost management.
· Manage Sharps waste disposal by coordinating pick-up services and monitoring expenses for each shelter.
Collaborate with Advowaste to identify cost-saving opportunities, such as adjusting container sizes to better align with the specific needs of each shelter.
On-Site Support & Assistance
· Serve as the designated nurse for the doctor or nurse practioner you work with; responsible for opening notes and documenting IMM and TVFC forms, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
· Provide on-site support at shelters as needed, offering guidance and assistance with vaccine management while ensuring that other medical staff retain responsibility for their duties.
· Collaborate with other nurses to support vaccine-related tasks, ensuring high standards of care without duplicating efforts.

CPR Certified
BLS Certified
Additional Information
Location: Office-based with frequent travel to various shelter locations as required
