Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and have the ability to provide comprehensive nursing services to oncology patients. This role involves working closely with patients undergoing cancer treatment, ensuring their comfort, safety, and emotional well-being throughout their journey.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate health status and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and side effects.
  • Provide ostomy care, including education and support for patients with ostomy needs.
  • Perform specimen collection processing and diagnostic evaluations to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families about cancer treatments, side effects, and self-care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Stay informed about workers’ compensation law as it pertains to oncology care.
  • Engage in travel nursing opportunities as needed, providing care in various settings.
  • Support geriatric patients by addressing their unique healthcare needs within the oncology context.
  • Participate in occupational health initiatives related to oncology practices.

Job Requirements

Experience
Candidates should have a valid Registered Nurse license with experience in oncology nursing preferred. Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments is a plus, along with skills in diagnostic evaluation and specimen collection processing. A background in geriatrics or occupational health will enhance the candidate's ability to provide comprehensive care. Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential for success in this role.
