Job Summary
Pulse Staffing is currently seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for opportunities across Houston and Baytown areas. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to assist in providing high-quality patient care. This role is essential in helping patients recover from injuries, manage pain, and improve their overall physical function. The Physical Therapist Assistant will engage with patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and acute care environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans for patients.
- Provide direct patient care, including exercises, modalities, and therapeutic activities.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising physical therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and home exercise programs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes using medical terminology.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-treatment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Uphold safety standards and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Job Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to physical therapy practice.
- Experience or familiarity with orthopedics, trigger point therapy, outpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, or acute care is preferred.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients during their rehabilitation journey.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
