Position Summary:

Pulse Staffing is looking for Phlebotomists to join our team in Houston, TX. We are looking for individuals that are self-motivated, have the ability to work independently, and have the ability to work with minimal supervision. This position is a combination of administrative and clinical functions, including patient intake, phlebotomy, laboratory preparation, and clinical administration.

Phlebotomist duties and responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture on patients of all ages.
• Preparing patients before drawing blood
• Collect/prepare non-blood specimens.
• Ensure proper specimen processing, labeling, and test ordering.
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.
• Collect/prepare non-blood specimens.

• Following all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas.
• Gathering medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags and test tubes
• Verifying patient information and labeling blood samples properly
• Accurately updating patient information in the organization’s database
• Explaining blood draw procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing
• Certification from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians a plus
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent motor skills and the ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Data entry and computer skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and other employees.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

• 8a-5p
• 8:30a-4:30p
• 8-1p
• No nights or weekends

*Hours and length of assignments vary depending on the site

Salary: $20.00 per hour
