Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mental health care and be committed to providing high-quality support to patients with psychiatric conditions. This role involves working closely with individuals who may have developmental disabilities and requires a blend of clinical expertise and empathetic patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine patient needs.
  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, focusing on effective discharge planning.
  • Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and support for patients experiencing behavioral health issues.
  • Engage in pain management strategies tailored to individual patient requirements.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records using electronic health record systems such as eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth.
  • Collaborate with home care services to facilitate continuity of care for patients post-discharge.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training related to working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

 

 

 
 

Job Requirements

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN) license required
  • Previous experience in psychiatric nursing or behavioral health settings is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems, including eClinicalWorks or Athena health, is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of pain management techniques and diagnostic evaluation processes is beneficial.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate care and advocating for the needs of patients with mental health challenges.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate patient schedules.
