Job Overview
Pulse Staffing is seeking a compassionate and licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) for immediate opportunities in Houston and Baytown area. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to assist patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals. This role is essential in providing quality care and support to individuals across various settings, including acute care, outpatient facilities, and home health environments.
Duties
- Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist, focusing on improving patients' daily living skills and overall functionality.
- Conduct therapeutic activities that promote physical and emotional well-being, tailored to each patient's specific needs.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with medical standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises and strategies to enhance recovery at home.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to effectively communicate with team members and provide optimal patient care.
- Support pediatric patients through engaging activities that foster development and independence.
Job Requirements
Experience
- Previous experience in acute care, outpatient therapy, or home health settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and occupational health practices is a plus.
- Strong understanding of care plans, medical terminology, and relevant anatomy knowledge is essential.
- Experience working with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
- Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate patient education and collaboration with the healthcare team.
