CNA Certified Nursing Assistant– CNA / Nurse Aide

Job Requirements

We are looking for Certified Nursing Assistants who combine a true passion for providing the best nursing care, with a demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures. In addition, you should be team-oriented and compassionate professional committed to always providing exceptional service. It is also important that you are highly organized and that you demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work well with a diverse population.

CNA Duties

• Answering call buttons and alerting nurses to emergencies
• Monitoring patient needs and reporting any issues to other healthcare personnel
• Helping patients with their daily needs, such as eating, bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Ensuring patient comfort by changing bedding, filling water jugs, and positioning items so they are in reach
• Repositioning patients in beds
• Helping patients move from a bed to a chair or wheelchair and back
• Assisting with lifting patients from their bed to examination tables, surgical tables, or stretchers

Depending on state regulations:  CNA Duties could include:

• Measuring and recording food and liquid consumption
• Accompanying patients to off-site doctor appointments
• Stocking or issuing medical supplies, such as dressing packs or treatment trays
• Measuring vital signs, including blood pressure, oxygen level, and temperature
• Explaining medical procedures and tests to patients and their families
• Dispensing medication as prescribed
• Changing dressings and bandages
• Setting up equipment such as oxygen tents, portable radiograph (X-ray) equipment, or IVs
• Assisting in minor medical procedures

Specific qualifications for this CNA nursing role include:

• Minimum 1 year of CNA experience (Hospital, Rehab, LTC (nursing homes, Long Term Care), LTAC (Long Term Acute Care)

• Must have Texas CNA / Nurse Aide license
• Must have BLS certification

• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-risk environment

• Must meet Pulse Staffing’s hiring criteria
