Pulse Staffing has a Certified Medical Assistant contract available for an experienced MA in the Katy area of town. You must have RENAL experience to be considered.

Provide direct care to patients from neonate to adult while providing excellent customer service in an ambulatory setting. Assist in the coordination of flow and provider schedules to effectively manage patient care. Demonstrates positive and effective interpersonal skills  communication and customer service by welcoming and interacting with  patients  families and visitors
Facilitates the appointment check-in process by performing patient registration  ensuring that all necessary patient forms are provided and filled out for visit  communicating with patient  staff and physician regarding patient arrivals  delays and clinic processes
Collaborates with clinic staff to ensure effective patient flow by prioritizing patients to be roomed based on appointment/arrival times and clinic procedures  notifying provider of arrival of first clinic session patient  and turning over exam room in preparation of next visit
Provides high quality  cost-effective patient care in collaboration with clinicians and in conjunction with the patient/family by administering inhalation  topical and unit dose oral or injectable medications as directed
Collects specimens and performs Point of Care Testing (POCT)
Completes check-out for patients/families by reviewing orders for completeness  clinical indication and signature
Facilitates patient flow as the scheduling master for the clinic

Monday - Friday 8a-4:30p

A minimum of two (2) years related experience
Experience in a healthcare setting or customer service focused industry preferred; outpatient clinic operations experience preferred; college degree is preferred
Knowledge of nursing/medical assistant patient care tasks  the managed care industry  appointment scheduling  related medical terminology and customer service concepts
Ability to proficiently operate a PC and office equipment; ability to provide basic clinic/patient care
Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills  good verbal communication skills  good time management skills and demonstrate sound decision making
Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred

MA Diploma, HS Diploma or GED, National Registration through: AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, NAHP. current AHA BLS. Current TB clearance and immunization records.
