Duties
  • Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for patients of all ages.
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical and dental histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral health status.
  • Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, providing gentle chairside support tailored to young patients’ needs.
  • Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix to document treatment notes, update medical records, and review documentation for accuracy.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions in both English and the designated second language.
  • Maintain strict infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments to ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborate with dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, medical imaging results, and other relevant health information following HIPAA guidelines and medical terminology standards.

Job Requirements

Requirements:
  • Valid state license as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and another language (e.g., Spanish), with excellent communication skills to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
  • Prior experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, along with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical coding practices.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and proper handling of medical records.
  • Demonstrated ability in patient care, patient assessment, documentation review, and medical terminology application.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and delivering compassionate care.
