Pulse Staffing is searching for a Pediatric Clinic Registered Nurse to work in a busy clinic in the medical center Houston. This is a Mon-Fri 8a-5p opportunity.

RN duties:

  • Provide age-appropriate care for patients from Neonate to Adult, considering development age in approach to and preparation of child; implement safety measures that are appropriate to developmental age; utilize age-appropriate equipment and supplies
  • Assess patients with input from patient and/or their family in an organized and systematic manner; collect and analyze data from the medical record in order to coordinate patient care; analyze situations, anticipate potential problems, and detect/address changes in patient status
  • Develop, implement and evaluate individualized plans of care, involving patient/family in the plans of care; reprioritize/update plans of care based on changes in patient conditions, communicate to other healthcare team members, and document in the medical record; participate in interdisciplinary rounds and/or patient care conferences
  • Assess patient/family learning needs, capabilities, preferences and readiness to learn prior to teaching; identify actual/potential barriers to learning (emotional, physical, cognitive, etc.) and utilize teaching strategies and materials as appropriate to the learning ability of the patient/family; formulate, implement and document individualized teaching plan based on assessment; evaluate effectiveness and modify teach plan accordingly
Skills:

Knowledge of the principals of biological, physical and social science; observation, assessment, intervention, evaluation, care and counsel
Knowledge of related OSHA, CLIA and Joint Commission guidelines and requirements, general office tasks, confidentiality, and filing system
Ability to implement developmental (age-appropriate) nursing practices
Ability to administer, supervise, and evaluate nursing practices, policies, and procedures
Ability to demonstrate positive and appropriate interpersonal skills, good time and resource management skills, flexibility, strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to type, file, and use a multi-line telephone, computer, fax, and copier
Ability to operate unit specific equipment

Education:

Associate (or higher) Degree in Nursing
Current Texas RN license or permit required
Bachelor s in Science in Nursing Degree preferred
