Pulse Staffing has contract assignments available for experienced pharmacy technicians with a busy hospital in the Med Center.
Task #1: Assists the pharmacist in ensuring the appropriateness of all medication doses by correctly entering patient’s diagnosis, weight, allergies, and body surface area in the computer.
Responsibility B: Ensures adequate inventory
Task #1: Receives and processes pharmaceutical and supply shipments.
Responsibility C: Follows proper distribution/delivery procedures
Task #1: Ensures the doses are delivered within established departmental time-frame standards.
Responsibility D: Documentation and Education
Task #1: Completes and documents Daily and Monthly Activity checklists including expired drug checking, cleaning assignments, and ordering supplies and forms.
Task #2: Maintains investigational drug records according to departmental policy.
Responsibility F: Communicates with others
Responsibility G: Performs essential functions in the Ambulatory Care Pharmacy
Task #1: Ensures medications/prescriptions are processed and delivered within department time frame standards.
Responsibility H Performs other essential functions in Compounding and Repackaging
Responsibility I: Performs Other Essential Pharmacy Support Services Functions
Task #1: Participates in the interim and annual physical inventories, including audit counts, extension procedures, and auditing of inventory reports.
Responsibility J: Performs other essential functions in the Controlled Substances Area
Responsibility K: Performs essential functions in the Investigational Drug Service area
HS Diploma or GED
Registration with the State Board of Pharmacy to work as a technician in Texas
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
Two years of pharmacy technician experience
40 hours of training in compounding sterile products
Completion of a 40-hour course sponsored by an ACPE-accredited provider
Completion of a 40-hour training program which is accredited by ASHP (American Society of Health-System Pharmacists)
